Section 2, Part B, Module 25, Sheet Lead Weatherings

Hi all it is a difficult time to study wile the kids are on holiday and needing more attention than usual, but with the help of my good lady i have not only found time to look into sheet lead weathering's but also to submit the TMA as well, so i am feeling very pleased with myself especially since i have had my dates for weeks 3 & 4 practical training as the last week in June and the first week of July. So again i have only a couple of weeks to wait thanks to the help of the team at T4TS "Thanks Guys". I will be doing a training diary again and hope it will be as well received as the last diaries i posted.

So lets take a look at sheet lead weathering's, i have to admit that when i first looked at this subject it did not seem to be an obvious plumbers role. one would think that it would be more in the realms of roofing contractors, but when you look deeper into the subject and become aware of the welding techniques used to achieve a weather proof finish and also the health and safety issues with working with lead and pressurised, flammable gasses you start to see why it falls under the plumbers remit. but when i talk to other people in the construction industry it seems to be a vague area where cross trading happens all the time at least at domestic level. All that aside i don't yet have any tools for working with lead and will have to wait until my practical training week 5 to get some experience working with this material so plenty of time to accumulate some lead work tools.

Thanks for reading

Next week i will be looking at Module 26 Electricity another area were we cross trade on a regular basis. My brother is an electrician with 30 years experience in the industry so i will be calling on him to help me with this module.
