Ecobuild 2011

Last week was Ecobuild 2011 and i spent the week in London attending seminars and other events,  it was a fantastic experience with many new and established companies in attendance.
Ecobuild is the world’s largest event for sustainable design, construction and the built environment, and with more than 600 speakers, 1300 exhibitors, one of the most influential conferences in the sector. As a trainee plumber i found  it to be an invaluable experience with the chance to get hands-on experience of the products on the market as well as being able to chat with suppliers and manufactures, I brought away with me a huge supply of literature and made lots of new and useful contacts that will certainly be very helpful in the pursuit of my new career.
So not much actual course-work got done last week but as my current modules are on setting up in business the chance to meet lots of new businesses was brilliant. I hope to visit a few more trade events and conferences and would advise all T4TS students to do the same.
Also this week i have invested in a new blow torch having blundered my way through with an antiquated torch, now i have a Rothenberger Superfire 2 which i am looking forward to using very soon. Hand-tools are of huge importance and as such need to be of the very best quality as a part-time worker this can be a bit disheartening when i see the price of some of the items i still need but i am getting there.
